If a municipality receives federal money for a senior center, a bridge or a defense contract, it may have come from an earmark.

Named for the old practice of cutting the ears of livestock in order to identify the owner, earmarks are the name given when a congressman or senator secures money over and above what the president requests in his budget proposal -- usually in that person's district.

HARTFORD, CT –Sean Sullivan candidate for Congress (CT-2) will be appearing at the American Legions Veterans Benefit Information Fair this Saturday April 19 at the State Capital complex in Hartford at noon. The event brings members of Veterans groups from all over the state together to help facilitate employment, education, financial assistance and counseling. Sullivan Attends Hebron Maple Fest

This past Sunday, March 9th, Sean had the pleasure of attending the Hebron Maple Fest. In addition to having some “moo juice” and some of the best fried dough around, Sean was able to meet the leaders of the local VFW and the American Legion. Sean was also able to meet members of the community and view the fantastic collection of quilts on display.
